The Walnut Project

A Traditional Kitchen Strensall

The Walnut Project was a replacement worktop installation which we undertook in a village just outside of York. Replacing the original black granite worksurfaces for these beautiful Black American Walnut worksurfaces, moulded to the already installed bespoke kitchen cabinetry the end result has added warmth to the room and provided further depth in this lovely kitchen.

YKD sourced, supplied and installed the replacement dishwasher, Quooker instant boiler tap, undermounted stainless steel sink, Walnut worksurfaces & upstands.

Project Overview

Removal of current oak and granite worksufaces ready for installation of new American Walnut worksufaces.
Preparation of new Black American Walnut Worksufaces - sanding, staining & oiling.
Creating a suitable template to mould around the sink unit which stands proud of the two outer units. Matching the internal radius on the external edge to make it softer than before.
Installation of worksufaces and matching upstands.
Installation of new stainless steel undermounted sink and replacement plumbing.
Installation of Quooker fusion round, 3in1 instant boiling water tap. Finished in Stainless Steel.
Installation of replacement integrated dishwasher.

All works were completed by Yorkshire Kitchen Design, project managed and completed as one job.
